AOR Office and Storage Building

Located at the heart of the Port of Antwerp, AOR – Antwerp Oil Refinery is a specialised filling company for vegetable oils. As part of an ongoing effort toward modernisation and rationalisation of its production and distribution processes, a new industrial complex is being developed on an adjacent vacant site. Across a surface area of 7,000 m², the project integrates a high-bay warehouse with 8,000 pallet spaces, a container loading zone, a loading hall, and three office floors into a coherent and efficient ensemble. The architecture explores the tension between industrial rationality and spatial refinement, where the logic of production meets the atmosphere of work. Through a carefully composed volumetry, material palette, and orchestration of light, the design achieves a balanced composition in which robustness and transparency reinforce one another. The result is a contemporary interpretation of industrial architecture within the dynamic landscape of the Antwerp harbour.
